strategy
strategy
it’s not a good year for being a good man
the wheel spokes turn
with their rusted exteriors
cracking rubber meets the pavement
weary, discarded
we define our jobs now to
require 50 percent effort
to achieve satisfactory status
so diligent an apathy
so thoroughly are we jaded
the earnest make us tired
with their challenges
gone are the days when
we thrived on our fears
the threats that made us stronger
in our readiness
flowers still bloom to completion
we hate them for their arrogance
it’s not a good year to be a good man
when truth that’s self-evident is
discarded unless our paycheck depends upon it
we’ll revisit this strategy
when future conditions dictate
