who is to thank for the last 8 years?

who campaigned for george w. bush? who voted for his bills in the senate 90% of the time? who voted for the iraq war? who wants to continue wars and start new ones without trying to be diplomatic with america’s enemies and even our allies? who works with and surrounds himself with lobbyists and corporate interests? whose tax plan would give corporations even more of a tax break? that’s right, it’s john mccain, despite the fact that he calls himself a “maverick” and says he will bring change to the white house.

who does he think he’s kidding? -h

david letterman gets stood up

this has to be one of the funniest things i’ve seen from letterman in a long time… john mccain cancels his appearance on the late show to “catch a plane to washington” then gets caught in yet another lie. letterman and his guest keith olbermann have PLENTY to say about that.

by the way, if mccain’s “suspending” his campaign, does that mean he’s no longer running? if only it were so… -h

about those corporate bailouts your tax money is going to

…you know, the ones going to fannie mae and freddie mac to the tune of up to $200 BILLION?

guess who’s directly been benefiting from freddie mac to the tune of $15-30 thousand a month - even receiving payments up through last month? none other than john mccain’s lobbyist friend/campaign manager rick davis and his firm davis manafort.

read the newsweek report here.

please let it be known - the republican party may say they’re campaigning for smalltown values and morality, but the facts state clearly: they are DEEP in the pockets of the corporate interests, and their only goal is to make the rich even richer - at your expense and the expense of future generations who will have to carry this national debt.

is it any wonder that the bill president bush is pressuring congress to pass for more corporate bailouts up to $700 BILLION includes SPECIFIC terminology stating the people of the US will not be able to review where the money goes to, nor will there be any accountability for those bailed out?

if anyone still actually thinks mccain has any interest in reforming our financial system, please raise your hand now.

PLEASE, if you are undecided on who you will vote for in this presidential election or are planning to vote for john mccain in this election, PLEASE take the time to review barack obama’s economic plan so you can see his focus on TRUE reform, bringing equality back to america’s economy, and allowing equal opportunity for everyone.

furthermore, take a second to review obama’s “responsible economic recovery plan”, which will help ensure that our tax dollars do not go towards paying for golden parachutes, or large payouts to the corporate leaders who led us into this crisis, as well as ensure that any bailouts that do occur will be subject to bi-partisan review and oversight, so that we’re not just writing a blank to check to greedy and irresponsible corporations. click here to read more and sign your support online.

please, do not sit by and allow my generation to be forced into footing the bill for this greed and corruption.

thank you.

after this last week

i felt motivated to put together my own parody of the mccain/palin campaign logo(see below). probably the biggest reason is because not only has mccain NOT shown leadership or a clear policy on the economy over this last week, his obviously changing message shows even he doesn’t know what the plan is, who the parties involved are and what their roles are, and he has little if no clue how to fix things. furthermore, the fact that their campaign is keeping palin mostly inaccessible to the press and that when she is interviewed, she can’t deviate from her talking points for more than 5 seconds without committing some kind of verbal gaffe, shows that she’s merely being used to bring in those few extra women/conservative voters and she has almost NO capability to even know what the issues are or make strong decisions on her own.

for a great commentary video from ABC news on why mccain’s age should be an issue, check out this link: “populism is always pandering, and pandering is always the reverse of leadership.” oh, and feel free to pass this graphic around whenever/wherever you’d like(just not for commercial use). -h

edit: here’s a news item from the NYTimes on how the mccain campaign needs palin handled with kid gloves. QUOTE: “McCain advisers said they were only somewhat concerned about Ms. Palin’s debating skills compared with those of Mr. Biden, who has served six terms in the Senate, or about his chances of tripping her up. Instead, they say, they wanted Ms. Palin to have opportunities to present Mr. McCain’s positions, rather than spending time talking about her experience or playing defense.” … so, in other words, she needs to be able to stick to her script, rather than replying to follow-up questions like in a normal conversation/debate. wow.
