who is to thank for the last 8 years?

who campaigned for george w. bush? who voted for his bills in the senate 90% of the time? who voted for the iraq war? who wants to continue wars and start new ones without trying to be diplomatic with america’s enemies and even our allies? who works with and surrounds himself with lobbyists and corporate interests? whose tax plan would give corporations even more of a tax break? that’s right, it’s john mccain, despite the fact that he calls himself a “maverick” and says he will bring change to the white house.

who does he think he’s kidding? -h

about those corporate bailouts your tax money is going to

…you know, the ones going to fannie mae and freddie mac to the tune of up to $200 BILLION?

guess who’s directly been benefiting from freddie mac to the tune of $15-30 thousand a month - even receiving payments up through last month? none other than john mccain’s lobbyist friend/campaign manager rick davis and his firm davis manafort.

read the newsweek report here.

please let it be known - the republican party may say they’re campaigning for smalltown values and morality, but the facts state clearly: they are DEEP in the pockets of the corporate interests, and their only goal is to make the rich even richer - at your expense and the expense of future generations who will have to carry this national debt.

is it any wonder that the bill president bush is pressuring congress to pass for more corporate bailouts up to $700 BILLION includes SPECIFIC terminology stating the people of the US will not be able to review where the money goes to, nor will there be any accountability for those bailed out?

if anyone still actually thinks mccain has any interest in reforming our financial system, please raise your hand now.

PLEASE, if you are undecided on who you will vote for in this presidential election or are planning to vote for john mccain in this election, PLEASE take the time to review barack obama’s economic plan so you can see his focus on TRUE reform, bringing equality back to america’s economy, and allowing equal opportunity for everyone.

furthermore, take a second to review obama’s “responsible economic recovery plan”, which will help ensure that our tax dollars do not go towards paying for golden parachutes, or large payouts to the corporate leaders who led us into this crisis, as well as ensure that any bailouts that do occur will be subject to bi-partisan review and oversight, so that we’re not just writing a blank to check to greedy and irresponsible corporations. click here to read more and sign your support online.

please, do not sit by and allow my generation to be forced into footing the bill for this greed and corruption.

thank you.

Q: is our children learning? A: childrens do learn!

as if to further add to the recent report about emperor bush’s hooked-on-phonics-inspired speech teleprompts, he manages to stick his foot even further into his mouth yesterday with the Instant Bush Classicâ„¢: “childrens do learn.”

at least he managed to answer his previous question… “is our children learning?”

coming up tomorrow: watch white house spokeswoman dana perrino spin the story! turns out, the emperor was just poking fun at himself! oh… what a jokester!

EDIT: finally some good news on the judicial front: a federal judge here in portland finds parts of the patriot act unconstitutional.

hookt on foniks wurked fer jorj!

emperor bush has often made some VERY stupid remarks, and often times comes across as not knowing much at all about what he’s talking about. now, this report adds a whole other level to this story.

for someone in his position, not only should he be expected to use the english language with at least an average level of competency, he should be expected to know at LEAST as much about what he’s saying in his speeches to be able to pronounce the words he is saying, NOT TO MENTION being expected to read and comprehend these terms.

which brings to mind questions such as:
how long has he needed these phonetic cues for his public appearances?

does he even review, much less rehearse his speeches before appearing live before worldwide audiences?

does the president even know what he’s talking about anymore? [the more obvious question of whether he can be trusted to do his job seems to be a moot point these days...]

white house spokeswoman dana perrino’s comments in defense of this practice only seem to add doubt to her story: “I don’t know how the draft of the speech that was not final was posted but it was and it was taken back” …she then went on to add: “Anyone giving a major speech or delivering a broadcast, like on the morning and nightly network news, has phonetics for cues just for the possibility they’re needed.”

yeah, it’s one thing for a talking head/news anchor to need cues - many of them don’t even do their own reporting and fact-checking, and most all of them come in contact with entirely new names and terms every night - but it’s another issue entirely when the president of the united states needs tutoring at the podium on how to say the names of people like the president of france, a name he should know well by now.

while political leaders having speech-writers isn’t a new idea, this report should cause serious questioning of whether bush has the capacity to do the job he was elected to do. furthermore, if he’s not capable, who has been writing these speeches and directing our government for all these years?

do i even have to use the words “shadow government”?

the mandelas are dead?

jon stewart in prime form last night shows the extreme disconnect that emperor bush has with reality.

this guy’s gone from just plain stupid to batshit insane… you know, it’d be funnier to watch if he wasn’t the leader of the free fucking world.

it begs the question though… since nelson mandela is a harsh critic of the bush administration, was he “supposed” to be dead before bush went on the air with this?
